Selects the auto focus operation mode.
AF mode setting is invalid when the Face Detection function or the Smile Detection function is activated.
When using Semi manual, auto focus operates the same as in [Single] mode.
Selects the digital zoom mode. The camera enlarges the image using optical zoom (up to 4×).
When the zoom scale exceeds 4×, the camera uses either smart or precision digital zoom.
AF Mode
Single
Automatically adjusts the focus when you press and hold the
shutter button halfway down. This mode is useful for
shooting stationary subjects.
Monitor
Automatically adjusts the focus before you press and hold the
shutter button halfway down. This mode shortens the time
needed for focusing.
Battery consumption is faster than in [Single] mode.
Digital Zoom

Enlarges the image digitally within the range where the image
will not be distorted, according to the image size.
This is not available when:
The image size is set to [8M], [3:2 (7M)] or [16:9 (6M)]
(DSC-W130 only).
The image size is set to [7M], [3:2 (6M)] or [16:9 (5M)]
(DSC-W110/W115/W120/W125 only).
The total zoom scale of Smart zoom is shown in the following
table.
Precision

Enlarges all image sizes by the total zoom scale of
approximately 8
×, including the optical zoom 4×. However,
note that the picture quality deteriorates when the optical
zoom scale is exceeded.
